Medical Laboratory Technology also called Clinical laboratory science is an allied health profession which is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease by performing tests on tissue, blood and other body fluids. A medical laboratory technologist or medical technologist is a healthcare professional who performs chemical, haematological, immunologic, histopathological, cytopathological, microscopic, and bacteriological analysis. Medical laboratory technicians work under the supervision of a physician, lab manager or medical technologist and helps in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Medical laboratory technicians can work many health care systems and in commercial laboratories.
